As per Articles 38.1 of the Law on Food safety and Articles 4,5 of attached Circular 19/2012/TT-BYT, prior to customs clearance and good release, the VN local company needs to carry out the Declaration of conformity or declaration of compliance with food safety requirements to the Food Safety Department – MOH to get the Receipt of Declaration Form of Conformity to Regulations or a Certificate of Declaration of Compliance with Food Safety Requirements.

In addition, chestnut is also managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MOARD), so the VN local company needs to carry out the procedures of registration of food safety inspection and plant quarantine at the Plant Protection Department of MOARD (Decision 4096/QD-BNN-QLCL; Article 1.2a of Circular 30/2014/TT-BNNPTNT and Article 7.4a of Circular 33/2014/TT-BNNPTNT).
