Planning Supervisor for CMIT

Cai Mep International Terminal is looking for a highly competent and experienced local Planning Supervisor who is accountable for managing and supervising vessel, yard, resource and berth planning activities with due regard to safety, quality, productivity and optimum use of staff, equipment and space.

Tasks:

The Planning Supervisor will report to the Planning & Gate Manager within the Operations Department and based at the terminal located at Tan Thanh district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. This position will be responsible for:

• Support Planning Manager to manage, motivate and instruct all planning team members. Organize information and efficiently execute daily tasks with considerations to high productivity

• Ensure that data quality used in the planning systems always is of highest integrity, and maintained in a timely fashion.

• Ensure maintenance and repair empty container activites run smoothly and make sure to have a well coordination with shipping line and Gate team to monitor volume of empty need to be delivered to customer.

• Maintain and enhance relationships and goodwill with departments, external/internal customers and vendors.

• Establish and maintain performance criteria for reporting personnel in conjunction with the Planning Manager.

• Perform periodical scheduled performance review with reporting personnel.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that will prepare the terminal for future initiatives.

• Ensure personal development plans are created, reviewed, and carried out for all subordinates.

Therefore CMIT seeks:

An outgoing and strong leader , with sense of responsibility and great customer service skills. The candidates must be qualified, decisive, results orientated as well as be able to work well under pressure.

The ideal candidates have:

• A College or University degree in Logistics, Transportation, Operations Management, Business Administration or related fields.

• A background of at least 3 years of experience in container terminal operations environment, as planner, coordinator or other similar position.

• In-depth knowledge of berthing ships, control and traffic of vessel movements, berthing positioning of vessels, and marine berth handlings. Requires in depth knowledge of planning manpower & equipment

• In depth knowledge about operational processes and TOS.

• In depth knowledge of berthing planning process and related documentation.

• Understanding of vessel stowage planning, vessel and yard operations.

• Some knowledge of accounting, billing, and associated documentation.

• Advanced level of verbal and written communications skills in English.

• Ability to sustain high level of activity and energy with a business like approach to daily challenges.

• In-depth with computer-aided resource planning systems.

Cai Mep International Terminal Co., Ltd. was established on January 26, 2007 as a joint venture between the Vietnam-based Saigon Port, Vietnam National Shipping Lines and APM Terminals BV. Providing a safe, secure and efficient cargo and vessel operation is of utmost importance to CMIT as this enables local importers and exporters efficient and reliable connectivity with the global markets.

The 600 meters of berth is equipped with 5 super post-Panamax gantry cranes which together with the RTG-based yard operation allows for an annual handling capacity of over 1.1 million TEUs.
