(1) The Shop Drawings, Working Drawings, and other Submittals, when required by the specificationsshall be signed and sealed for the Contractor, by the Contractor’s Quality Control Manager. Submittals without the required signature and seal will not be accepted and will be returned to the Contractor without action.3.3 SUBMITTAL REGISTER(a) The Contractor shall prepare and submit to the Engineer for review and approval no later than twenty- eight (28) days after the Commencement Date, a Submittal Register, noting all information and data required, including Shop Drawings, Working Drawings and other Submittals, to be submitted to the Engineer.(b) The Submittal Register shall be coordinated with the Contractor’s Schedule of Works. The Submittal Register shall be used as the document for controlling the submission of all Submittals throughout the period of the Contract. The Submittal Registers shall note:♦ a description of each Submittal and its contents including applicable specification identification;♦ if the Submittal is for information, consent or approval by the Engineer;♦ the date of transmittal;♦ the date of return of the Submittal;♦ the status of the returned Submittal, i.e. approved, approved with comments, rejected;♦ the date of re-Submittal (if required) to the Engineer.(c) The form and content of the Contractor’s proposed Submittal Register shall be initially submitted by the Contractor for review and consent by the Engineer with its initial Schedule of Works. The Submittal Register shall be updated monthly and submitted by the Contractor with its Monthly Report.3.4 SHOP DRAWINGS(a) The Contractor shall supplement the Contract Drawings with Shop Drawings to adequately control the work or as specified. “Shop Drawings” is a general term that includes drawings, diagrams, illustrations, samples, schedules, calculations, bar bending schedules and other data that provide details of the construction of the work and details for inspection by the Engineer. The Contractor, subcontractors, manufacturers, suppliers or distributors shall prepare Shop Drawings.(b) The Contractor shall submit Shop Drawings to the Engineer for and approval.(c) The Engineer will review the Shop Drawings to determine that general conformance with the design concept and general compliance with the information given in the drawings and specifications have been achieved. Unless stated otherwise, the review does not extend to means, methods, techniques, sequences, schemes, or construction procedures, or to satisfy precautions or to programs indicated thereto. The review by the Engineer is not intended to be a complete check. Any work done prior to the Engineer’s review of Shop Drawings shall be at the Contractor’s sole risk.(d) The Engineer may request additional details and require the Contractor to make changes in the Shop Drawings which are necessary to conform to the provisions of the drawings and specifications without additional cost to the Employer.(e) After review, the Engineer will return one set of Shop Drawings to the Contractor. Returned Shop Drawings will be stamped with the Engineer’s review stamp to indicate the following:Approved: Shop or Working Drawings have been reviewed and do not require re¬submittalApproved as Noted: Shop or Working Drawings have been reviewed and the Contractor shallincorporate the comments as noted in the Shop Drawings and work. The Shop Drawings do not requừe re-submittalReviewed and Resubmit: Shop or Working Drawings requiring correction or redrawing and shallbe resubmitted for review. If Shop Drawings are returned for correction or redrawing, corrections shall be made and the Contractor shall resubmit the Shop Drawings in the same manner as the first Submittal. Specific notation shall be made on the Shop Drawings to indicate the revisions made.(f) The time required for the Engineer’s review of each Submittal shall not exceed 28 days after completeShop Drawings are received by the Engineer.(g) It is the intent of these specifications that no more than two submissions per item shall be required.♦ If, however, additional submissions are required by actions of the Contractor, any delays will be the Contractor’s responsibility.♦ In addition any additional costs that may be incurred by the Employer or the Engineer due to reviewing Submittals more than twice shall be the responsibility of the Contractor.♦ The Employer may at any time, after advising the Contractor of such additional costs for Submittal review, recover such costs from money due or money which may be due to the Contractor.
