The media pay too much attention to the lives and relationships of celebrities such as actors, singers or footballers. They should spend more time reporting the lives of ordinary people instead.
To what extend di you agree?
Answer:
It is thought that the media should concerntrate more on ordinary people’ lives instead of showing too much about the lives of well-known ones such as singers, actors or footballers. I partly disagree with this statement.
Some people argue that ordinary lives should be reported because they do have many things to share and to be shared. Those are meaningful activitiy of a person to society, poverty or problem that a group of people have to suffer. In their opinions, when celebrities stand in front of the public eyes, they do not behave truly and readers might be put in a deception. Writings about the famous people is lack of practical knowledge that is needed in everyday life. In addition, the celebrities usually find it hard to live their real lives as well as keep private information. For instance, the love of a singers discovered by the journalists will be commented in different angles
However, other people insists on the advantages when spreading the lives of a well-known person. The major reason is that they can meet the demands of almost all the readers which leads to high grossing. People will not be unwilling to pay for their idols’ information. It seems to shorten the distance between a celebrity and his fans and play a role as motivation. We all know that famous celebrities are the ones whose names are known widely because of one or more exessive successes. Therefore they will have great effect on people who like them. People try to follow their idols in every step and do the same thing they do. For example, if a celebrity buys a new phone then his fans will manage to afford one or if he is a member of a Charity Organisation, his fans will try to help people as their hobbies.
In short, lives and relationships of famous people can somehow benefit both the readers and the media companies. This can not be less concerned. However, there should be more reports about ordinary lives to help form the way we see the world.
