Candidates nominated for this program should:

be a YSEALI member. Join YSEALI at https://youngsoutheastasianleaders.state.gov/
be between the ages of 18 and 25 at the time of application;
be a Vietnamese citizen;
be a full-time undergraduate student or have graduated in the past four years from college, university, or other institutions of higher learning;
be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English;
demonstrate strong leadership qualities and potential in their university, place of work, and/or community;
demonstrate interest, knowledge, or professional experience in ASEAN Economic Community;
demonstrate a commitment to or interest in community service, volunteerism, or mentorship;
indicate a serious interest in learning about the United States and ASEAN as a region; and
have a commitment to apply leadership skills and training to benefit their community, country, or the ASEAN region

Các ứng cử viên được đề cử cho chương trình này nên: là một thành viên YSEALI. Tham gia YSEALI tại https://youngsoutheastasianleaders.state.gov/ có độ tuổi từ 18 và 25 tại thời điểm nộp đơn; là một công dân Việt Nam; là một sinh viên đại học toàn thời gian hoặc đã tốt nghiệp trong bốn năm qua, từ trường đại học, trường đại học, hoặc các tổ chức khác của việc học cao hơn; có thể thành thạo trong việc đọc, viết và nói tiếng Anh; hiện những tố chất lãnh đạo mạnh mẽ và tiềm năng trong trường học, nơi làm việc, và / hoặc cộng đồng; chứng tỏ sự quan tâm, kiến thức hoặc kinh nghiệm chuyên nghiệp trong kinh tế ASEAN Cộng đồng; thể hiện một cam kết hay quan tâm đến dịch vụ cộng đồng, hoạt động tình nguyện, hoặc cố vấn; mục đích nghiêm túc trong nghiên cứu về Hoa Kỳ và ASEAN là một khu vực; và có một cam kết áp dụng các kỹ năng lãnh đạo và đào tạo để lợi cho cộng đồng, đất nước của họ, hoặc các khu vực ASEAN
