Dear Mr. McKenzie


As Mr. Berridge indicated, Cabinet has formally approved your appointment as Honorary Consul to Hanoi Vietnam. Additionally, earlier this week we received information from the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Cuba informing that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam has accepted your appointment.


To fulfill all relevant procedures our Ministry will forward additional required documents. The Embassy of Vietnam has also requested the most convenient date for the presentation of credentials and the list of persons who will participate in the ceremony.


The Ministry would be grateful if you could communicate the latter to us so that we can inform the Embassy of Vietnam formally.


Please accept my sincere congratulations on your new appointment.

I was indeed pleased to learn of the decision by the Cabinet to formally approve your appointment as our Honorary Consul in Hanoi. I found this out from my colleague, Ms. Shanelle Simmonds, who is the desk officer for Asia. I covered her desk while she was on training duty for a three month period.

Since her return, she has been covering her substantive duties with her characteristic diligence. Ms. Simmonds is copied in this email correspondence, and I find it most fitting for her to provide you with a fulsome update on the next steps ahead.

Ngoài ra, đầu tuần này, chúng tôi đã nhận được thông tin từ Đại sứ quán nước Cộng hòa xã hội chủ nghĩa Việt Nam tại Cuba thông báo rằng Bộ Ngoại giao Việt Nam đã chấp nhận cuộc hẹn. Để thực hiện tất cả các thủ tục liên quan Bộ của chúng tôi sẽ gửi các tài liệu yêu cầu bổ sung. Đại sứ quán Việt Nam cũng đã yêu cầu ngày thuận tiện nhất cho việc trình bày các thông tin và danh sách những người sẽ tham gia vào buổi lễ.
