Fig. 1b shows the XRD patterns of the Bi4Ti3O12-coated micatitania
composites prepared with different Bi2O3 loadings. The XRD
peaks appearing at 2 = 29.9◦, 32.9◦, and 47.1◦ were ascribed to
those of Bi4Ti3O12 (PDF #47-0398). Bi2O3 and the rutile TiO2 on the
mica-titania surfaces reacted to form Bi4Ti3O12 during the calcination
