An elderly couple who were accused of carrying out a six-year campaign against their next-door neighbours, which included throwing dead chickens at their house, were fined a total £6,000 yesterday. Zipfell sat at the back of court in a wheelchair next to Hird during the hearing. Both of them deny ever swearing at the Barlows or harassing them. However, Judge Fox found them guilty and fined them £6,000. He also ordered Hird to see a psychiatrist, saying he believed that she was mainly responsible for the attacks.
