My #1 makeup obsession this year has been the Cle de Peau Luminizing Face Enhancer. I was hooked since the first application and I have since used and featured 13 Sand Beige in multiple tutorials (here and here). All four are beautiful, but I have discussed 13 most since it blends so seamlessly with bronzer. Today, however, I will share the other three shades available. I love the Cle de Peau Luminizing Face Enhancers ($95 USD for refill + case) not simply for the exquisite light-reflecting, multi-faceted champagne gold compact designed by UK jewelry designer Shaun Leane or the multi-colored and embossed powder, but for the ultra finely milled shimmer that provides a lit-from-within glow. The powder's soft and velvety base blends onto the skin with just the right amount of translucency. Best of all, the Luminizing Face Enhancers do not accentuate pores whatsoever. My complexion appears more even-toned and my cheeks more smooth and plump, which is why I am so addicted! The powder claims to use an innovative light-diffusing technology to achieve this complexion magic, but the only thing you need to know is that the Luminizing Face Enhancers are the best highlighters that money can buy.



A little goes a long way, so each pan should last me a year even with daily use. I dust on a swipe or two per cheekbone, down the nose bridge, above the cupid's bow and occasionally under the eyebrow arches with my SUQQU Cheek Brush or Wayne Goss 02, though the synthetic one included with the CdP compact would suffice for touch-ups. I cannot stop raving about the healthy, dewy and believable glow these highlighters give my skin, especially since they do not accentuate the larger pores near my nose. You will never look oily, sweaty or greasy with CdP (when applied properly).
I love these so much that my makeup no longer feels or looks complete without my Luminizers! Many seem to prefer cream highlighters since they usually adhere to the skin more naturally, but Cle de Peau has produced the most exceptional powder highlighters ever made. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders will accentuate pores or textural imperfections a bit more, and NARS' Albatross (golden sheen similar to CdP 12) has much larger, chunkier glitter than in any of the CdP highlighters.

13 Sand Beige is not nearly as dark as it looks in the pan. I assumed it would wear like a bronzer, but with one swipe, I discovered that was not the case whatsoever. It does deposit more color on the skin that the other Luminizing Face Enhancers, but 13 Sand Beige matches my light-medium skin tone perfectly. It translates as a peachy-champagne highlighter with a hint of bronzy gold, which is absolutely perfect for summer and pairing with your favorite bronzer. For reference I use Chanel 20 in foundations, so those who wear my shade and darker will find that Sand Beige is a very natural, flattering warm highlighter that can be worn with bronzer.

13 Sand Beige is most similar in color to the golden-beige Chanel Dentelle Precieuse Lace Highlighter (though more peachy-pink), which was available exclusively at Nordstrom in celebration of the Anniversary Sale. Now, the lace embossment definitely gives it collector status, and it is undoubtedly one of the best highlighters Chanel has released in the last few years. Unless you are a die-hard Chanel fan, however, I would still recommend spending the additional $15 and splurging on performance with Cle de Peau's LFE.



14 Delicate Pink, the latest addition to the lineup, is a medley of pretty pink, ivory-beige, and pure white. This color combination delivers stunning clarity and radiance, so I prefer to use this one when I prefer a brighter look to the complexion. I usually reach for this on days when I am not wearing bronzer. The white in the color way livens up my entire face, and of the four options available, I believe 14 will look the most universally flattering across all skin tones.



If, however, you have ruddy cheeks, stick to 12 Gold and take advantage of the neutralizing properties of the ivory, yellow and gold tones. There's also a hint of seashell pink in the shimmer, which adds balance and prevents the highlighter from making yellow complexions like mine appear sallow. For those curious, 12 is indeed lighter and more traditionally golden as opposed to 13. If you missed out on the limited edition Summer 2014 Dior Transat Nude Tan highlighter, try 12 Gold! On my light-medium skin tone, it is ultra natural.
