Introduction

The purpose of this proposal is to suggest how my country could contribute to the international festival in London.

Our National History

Montenegro has a rich and fascinating cultural life. Our culture is fully embedded in ancient traditions. The history area is very complex so I am not going to get into that instead I am going to inform you about our National Museum of Montenegro which is placed in Cetinje, the city which is a very important religious and historical center of Montenegro. The museum is divided into five departments which are Museum of History, the Art Museum, the Ethnographic Museum and the Archaeological Museum. I would recommend visiting Biljarda,the museum of Petar II Petrovic Njegos.Njegos is known as the greatest Montenegrin poet and often also as a philosopher. His museum is full of military costumes, photos of soldiers with outlandish mustaches, exquisitely decorated weapons, documents , bishop’s clothing, fabulous furniture and many other various things. So it is definitely a must see attraction. And what I propose is to somehow bring all these historical objects in order to relive our history.

Outdoor Life

Montenegro is a place where numerous celebrations take place every month. I suggest that we create events aimed at people in their early and mid-twenties. For example we can organize different music festivals such as Exit Sea Dance Festival which takes place in one of the most beautiful beaches on Adriatic Sea. Visitors would be amazed and captivated by the beauty of Montenegrin seaside. Except for the young population, we should also try attracting people different ages and one way to do this is through carnivals. I recommend showing a video so visitors could see how streets are filled with costumed people enjoying performers, fireworks and parades.

National cuisine

In order to get the heart of Montenegro visitors should try the specialties of national cuisine. The large influence on Montenegrin cuisine came from Turkey, Serbia and Italy. What I recommend is bringing all the traditional dishes such as kajmak, cicvara , pies, fish soup ,kacamak, burek, cevapi, smoked fish... so visitors could try them. And after a great meal they could pour some wine like Vranac for on it all. I am sure that no one can resist a great meal with a exquisite glass of wine.

In conclusion, I believe that Montenegrin culture would be a great addition to your cultural festival in London.
