It isn’t exactly new ground for a WWE wrestler to retire from in-ring competition and move into a producer (aka road agent) role for the company. It has happened several times in the past, and it will happen countless times in the future. For someone like Kane, the role makes perfect sense. As someone who has been there and done that, going up and down the card, and working through singles and tag ranks, he’s someone who WWE wrestlers can come to about anything and he’ll probably have an answer for them.As a very well-educated man, Glen Jacobs is someone who can also be trusted to help put matches together, and to “coach” certain wrestlers along, on the fly. As someone who is very trusted by Vince McMahon, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and other members of WWE management, he can easily do the road agent’s key job of being the “middle man” between the roster and said management. He’ll be turning 48 in 2015, so he clearly doesn’t have much time left in the ring, nor should he. This is a career switch he probably should have been considered for a few years ago, but now is as good a time as any to transition him into the next phase of his WWE life.
