NEW BRUNSWICK PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM UPDATE ON PROCESSING TIMES FOR THE BUSINESS APPLICANT STREAM The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) is based on a bilateral agreement between the Province of New Brunswick and the Government of Canada. Under this Agreement, the NBPNP is authorized to issue a maximum of 625 certificates of nomination every year; this includes all Business applicants and Skilled Worker applicants, with the exception of those applying through the Express Entry Labour Market Stream. Due to an extremely high volume of business stream applications submitted to the NBPNP in 2013, the business stream was paused on September 6th, 2013. As a result, average processing times increased significantly. The processing times below are the most accurate and up-to-date source of information regarding the status of your application to the Business stream of the NBPNP. Processing times are estimates only and subject to change without notice. If your application was received by the NBPNP on or before August 31, 2014:Status: Currently under process. Estimated processing time if your application was received by the NBPNP after September 1, 2014:The estimated processing time is up to 24 months. Estimated processing times if you have submitted a Request for a Business Trip and are waiting for an interview date:The NBPNP is currently booking interviews for August 2015. The estimated processing time for applications received after the interview is at least 24 months from the date of receipt of the application. Please note: Your age and the age of dependent children is assessed as of the day your application for permanent residence is received at the NBPNP Office and you are assigned an NBPNP application number. Age is not assessed as of the day that the Request for a Business trip is received. Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s (CIC) definition of a dependent child changed in August 2014. Please visit the CIC website at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2014-08-01.asp for details. While NBPNP criteria is uniformly applied to all applications to ensure the highest degree of program integrity, New Brunswick cannot guarantee specific processing times for any application because each application is unique. These processing times are estimates only and represent full and complete applications for which no additional information is required. Applicants who do not wish to continue with their applications for permanent residence in Canada may choose to withdraw their applications from the program by emailing the NBPNP office at immigration@gnb.ca. You also have the option to apply to other provincial nominee programs or CIC immigration programs with New Brunswick as your destination.
