This is an older one that I edited and added to. Hope you enjoy.Disclaimer: I do not own anything referenced here. First it was the kitchen table and chairs. Given that Asami had been heavily involved in fucking him senseless when the last sturdy chair had collapsed and the table had cracked, Takaba hadn’t felt at all odd in accepting them. Then the mess that his couch had been turned into over White Day had been replaced. Which was only right given that Asami had brought all of the sundae ingredients.Takaba had sent back the arm-chair and love-seat that had come with it though. The new TV he should have actually bought, given he had been the one throwing books at Asami. But if Asami hadn’t introduced him to the Prime Minister as ‘my cute little kitten’ he wouldn’t have been in the mood to throw the books. And Kou and Takato had been there when it was delivered, so there was no real way to say no to a giant screened TV with an apology note taped to the front. The cookware wasn’t his. He never used it. Asami did when he wanted to cook. Same with the refrigerator full of food and the new stove. He had paid for the new Western bed frame, but Asami had paid for the mattress because they had gotten slightly distracted in the store and had ended up using the mattress. But he had no idea how to move all of the stuff. He had been too embarrassed to protest when his landlady politely asked him to leave, blushing the entire time. Given that Asami had decided to celebrate Halloween by making him scream all night, he knew exactly why.But that still left him with the problem of finding a new apartment and finding some way to get all of his stuff there. He’d already placed a call to Kou, who was definitely a talent in the realty market and would quickly take care of finding another place. The problem was how to get all of his things to said new place. There was a cough from behind him and Kazumi, the tall blonde guard, was standing in the door. He looked rather embarrassed. “Takaba-san, I apologize. I just spoke to the manager and the problem is sorted out.” Takaba looked at him.“Thank-you, Kazumi, but I think it would work out better if I did just leave.” He glanced outside and blushed. Kazumi looked even more embarrassed. “I…” He paused. “I overslept, Takaba-san, so if there is anything I can do, please, allow me to help.” He looked so positively horrified that Akihito nodded quickly.“Can you help me move this stuff? I might as well get it all over to my parent’s place before my neighbors get back from work and decided to lynch me.” Kazumi nodded and they began loading what of Takaba’s possession they could into the Mercedes that Kazumi had driven over. They were driving towards his parents’ house when Akihito’s phone went off. Kou’s name flashed and Akihito asked Kazumi to pull over.“So you’ve finally decided to move! I told you that I could get you ten places better than that shithole you’ve been living in. You actually picked a perfect time. I’ve got a big place on the 21st floor of a place downtown. You’ll love it. I know the manager, he’s looking for someone who will be quiet and be friendly with the other neighbors. They own quarter shares in the building and they haven’t liked the past four residents. You’ll just have to win them over and you’ve got it.” Akihito thought for a moment. That didn’t sound bad at all. “Well?” Kou asked. Akihito debated for another moment. “You can move in right now.” Akihito nodded. Kou’s own apartment was another deal like this, the penthouse at the top of an apartment complex, but even with his skills as a real-estate agent, Kou had been forced to sign early and then pay two rents for a few months. This was a one time deal.“Ok. I’ll do it.” Akihito decided. Kou’s joyful yells echoed through the car. Akihito loved his new apartment. It was a huge place on the second to top floor of a downtown skyscraper. And it was only two thousand more a month in rent than his older one. He had a huge darkroom with a large closet for an even bigger camera case and an enormous balcony. The balcony was about three stories above any other building and he had walked out on it naked several times, just because he could. His Play-station was set up with Yoshida’s projector so that they could play it on the wall and he threw himself on the new leather chair that had been his housewarming gift from the gang. Five minutes later, his car was careening down the side of a building. It took a few moments for him to realize that there was someone knocking at the door.Chuckling, he rolled over and yelled. “The door is open, Okaasan.” The other advantage, old women with nothing to do all day but gossip and cook food. Kaya-san and Yuki-san lived in the other two apartments on the floor and they were old friends. They apparently had immensely detested the previous of occupant of his apartment and complained incessantly about him and his womanizing and ill manners. They had loved him from the moment that he had, on the day he had moved in, saved a kitten that had been trapped up a tree. It had belonged to Yuki, who continuously made him treats in repayment. Yuki-san entered, her kimono bright green and holding a plate.“I made some kind of American cookie. I like them. I used the chocolate that my grandson bought me in Germany.” He tasted one and immediately began to praise her. She giggled and pulled on his arm. “Come have tea!” He nodded.“I have to be back in an hour to take out my negatives, alright?” She waved her hand dismissively and dragged him into her apartment. Kaya-san was waiting and Akihito immediately knew that he had been set up. A beautiful young woman and an equally attractive man were seated with the older woman, looking too similar to not be related. The man turned and smiled broadly. “You must be Akihito-san. Okaasan has been telling us all about you!” The girl nodded. “Thank-you for being so good to our okaasan, Akihito-san. Rescuing her kitty from the tree was just too kind.” Her eyes were longing. Akihito cursed the day that he had admitted to not having girlfriend. The young man looked at him sympathetically and began a conversation about work.“And so we stumbled back to the dorm, covered in mud and got the entire shower covered. I don’t think anyone was clean for an entire month!” Akihito laughed with Mizuki and they both finished their beers. Mizuki’s sister was talking to the older woman and glanced over before they could open another set of beers, making a very specific gesture to the door. Akihito hadn’t met a man quite as funny in a long time. Mizuki’s stories about his private school days were hilarious and he knew a few basic facts about photography, so it had been fascinating.
“I suppose I have to go now. I have some work to finish up.” Mizuki smiled sheepishly. “It was supposed to be a quick visit.” Akihito laughed.
“I’ve actually got a set of negatives to soak, so I should go too.” They all moved to the doorway, Kaya-san and Yuki-san giggling and extracting promises for more teas.
“And next time, you must stay long enough to see the man from the penthouse. He’s quite a sight.”
“I’ve never seen anyone so handsome before!” Kaya-san sighed and Yuki-san nodded her agreement. Akihito smiled at them, then turned his head as Mizuki brought a hand down to rest on his shoulder.
“Aki, you have to come out with my friends sometime! They would love you.” Akihito nodded.
“Sure! I’d love to introduce you to Kou and Takato. Maybe at the Heat tonight?” Mizuki immediately agreed and they took a moment to enter their phone numbers into each other’s phones. Akihito was just finishing with his entry when Yuki-san gasped. He looked up and froze.
Asami was standing in the glass elevator, smoking, seemingly rising up from hell. He had a coat over one shoulder and his tie was hanging around his neck. His golden eyes were casually surveying the hall and his hand stopped mid-motion when they found Akihito. They stayed locked with his eyes until the elevator disappeared into the ceiling.
The old women sighed and Mizuki’s sister moaned. Mizuki looked struck. Akihito sent up a pray of thanks that no one was paying attention to him and his stunned look.
“Isn’t he just amazing?” Kaya-san said. And then they all stared again.
Asami’s shiny black shoes appeared first and then the rest appeared slowly, drawing all eyes up the pinstripe pants and to the waistcoat, before emphasizing the broad shoulders.
The doors open and he sauntered forward.
“Akihito. I didn’t know you moved in here.” The implication was of total sex. Akihito tried to think.
“I just moved four days ago, completely unplanned, and you changed your cell phone number again.” Better that than admit that he had asked Kazumi to give him two weeks before mentioning it. Asami continued to walk towards him and paused, just at the awkward angle so that Akihito had to turn to speak to him and move his shoulder out from under Mizuki’s hand. Which he hadn’t realized was still there.
Asami smiled, or the smirk that was closest to a smile.
“How lucky I saw you then. You must come up for dinner tonight.” Akihito didn’t know what to say. Mizuki coughed.
“Weren’t you going to grab dinner with me before the club tonight?” He asked. Akihito almost winced. Antagonizing Asami was not a good idea.
Asami smiled.
Akihito did wince. “Actually, I haven’t seen Asami in so long, that if you wouldn’t mind, I’ll like to eat with him.” Mizuki looked
