There was a silence so deafening that they could have sworn their heartbeats eventually matched each other's after being the only sounds heard. No one spoke for a while, both looking out into the skyline and stuck in their thoughts. They haven't seen each other for probably a year and a half, maybe more, so this meeting was awkward at most, but strangely more intimate than it should be, considering these two are now strangers.

"A conversation about us." He breaks the silence.

She looks at him and her eyes soften. He still refuses to look at her. Maybe he's trying to keep himself from showing any more emotion that he already this.

"What about us? There hasn't been an us for a while now." She replies.

"Ever the cold hearted ice princess, huh, Ahn Sohee?" He jokes, making her laugh. He ends up looking the other way because he figures that he doesn't want to see her face accompanied by that fairy-like laugh. He's scared that if he does, maybe he won't have the courage to leave her here again.

"It's been two years since we broke up. I'm not sure there's really anything to say in regards to 'us', Jiyong." She says, changing the tone of the conversation.

"I know. I know. It's just.. I was listening to this song and it made me sad. I'm not sure why but it made me nostalgic. Yearning for the memories between us. It sounds ridiculous but I want to rewind to the point in our lives when we were so happy together." He sighs, finally turning to look at her.

"Jiyong, you have a girlfriend now."

"No, we haven't been together for a while now. I think it's been 4 months? Something like that. Maybe that's why I'm like this right now. Because she distracted me from my sadness and now that she's no longer here, I find myself wanting to talk to you. It just wasn't fulfilled until you guys released that album and had all that heartbreaking and eye-opening songs." He rubbed his eyes, whispering that something had gotten into his eye while she stares at him intently.

"Jiyong.. I'm sorry. I didn't know it was like that. I'm not sure we're good for each other. We broke each other's hearts and that sadness got in the way of our dreams. I don't know what you're trying to tell me but I do know that our relationship, although brief, was a great one."

"Really great. It was amazing." He cuts her off, earning a laugh once again.

"Yeah, it really was. We loved each other and I admit that some days I do want to rewind back to those days because we were so happy. And the sad me that has been taking over lately yearns crazily for those days. For that happiness that you gave me. But we couldn't go back and you know that. Our dreams were the most important to us and we both know that we would give anything up for our dreams. And although I think I've achieved mine already, I think your ambitions will take you higher and higher. I can't compete with that Jiyong. You deserve someone who is worthy to go up higher and become better with you. As much as I wish I could be that girl, I know I can't." She explains, leaning back into the bench and looking up into the stars. She's met with silence for a while until she feels warmth on her free hand.

"Sohee, I think you think too highly of me. I also think that you think you know me more than you do. That was the me in the past. Let's both admit that many things have changed, the environment, the people around us, and that includes ourselves. You've finally learned how to achieve your happiness, and I, for one, have achieved about 70% of it." He takes her cold hand with both of his and warms them with his breath.

"And what is that missing 30%?" She asks tentatively.

He looks at her, her hand still near his mouth, and smiles.

"You."

She recoils her hand to cover her face while she laughs. He turns his face back to the skyline while he swings his arms around her shoulder.

"So, what do you say Ahn Sohee? Want to rewind back to the days we were happy?" He asks.

She finally turns to look at him, flashing him a rare smile while her hand comes up to mess up his hair.

"Aish, how can I ever say no to you?"

The last thing he hears before overwhelming warmth envelops him is that ridiculously fairy-like laughter of hers and he thinks, This is what happiness feels like.
