PwC established the Data Request team to manage and control any internal data extract requests within LBIE. A team of three FTEs managed the following request process:
Applied a pragmatic approach to managing high risk data types, using a combination of behavioral and system based controls
Provided management and support between requestor, approver and provisioner pertinent to any data request
Developed a bespoke request management application to manage all requests, including maintaining an audit trail
Put in place a point of contact for each work stream and issued regular communications to the administration
In order to provide data to external affiliates, PwC implemented a team structure with associated processes to guarantee regulatory, operational and compliance requirements, in conjuncture with ensuring that the full commercial benefits of the activity could be realized. This included:
Utilizing a team of 20 data specialists to deliver requests, drawn from across PwC and external parties
Implementing a project management function that managed the team, resources, and overall work pipeline, as well as key relationships with IT management, BRS and other relevant parties e.g. Nomura.
