HÀ NỘI - Nearly 900,000 students nationwide yesterday registered for the national high school exam, the most important exam after 12 years of study, which takes place from today until July 4.
According to Ministry of Education and Training (MET), 98.22 per cent of applicants went to exam venues to register yesterday.
Since last year, high school graduation and university entrance exams have been combined into one national exam.
The results of the national exam will be considered for both the high school graduation and university admissions.
According to MET, the number of candidates registered this year decreased by about 120,000, equal to 12 per cent, compared to last year. About 32 per cent of the candidates will take the exam to get results for their high school graduation only.
Bùi Văn Ga, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, said that the test structure this year is not different from last year with the content focusing on 12th grade programme. The questions will not be tricky and not require students to learn knowledge by heart.

HÀ NỘI - Gần 900.000 sinh viên ngày hôm qua cả nước đã đăng ký cho kỳ thi trung học quốc gia, các kỳ thi quan trọng nhất sau 12 năm nghiên cứu, diễn ra từ hôm nay cho đến tháng 4.
Theo Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo (MET), 98,22 phần trăm ứng viên đã đi đến các địa điểm thi để đăng ký ngày hôm qua.
Kể từ năm ngoái, tốt nghiệp và đại học kỳ thi tuyển sinh trung học đã được kết hợp thành một kỳ thi quốc gia.

Bùi Văn Ga, Thứ trưởng Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo, cho biết cấu trúc bài thi năm nay là không khác nhau từ năm ngoái với nội dung tập trung vào chương trình lớp 12. Các câu hỏi sẽ không được khôn lanh và không yêu cầu học sinh tìm hiểu kiến thức của trái tim.
