PROJECT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT
Client: PETROVIETNAM BIOFUELS JOINT STOCK COMPANY (PVB)

Project: BIO-FUEL ETHANOL PLANT IN NORTHEN REGION
Plant Location: TAM NONG, PHU THO, VIETNAM
Climatic Condition: Exposure to Moderate corrosive atmosphere


1. For surface preparation blasted to SA 2 / SA 2 ½ quality, with Zinc Silicate (Alkyl) primer or Zinc Rich Epoxy primer, Micaceous Iron Oxide (recoatable) intermediate coat and Aliphatic Acrylic Polyurethane paint (Unlimited recoatable) or Two Pack Epoxy Phenolic finish coat. For details please refer ANNEXURE -1 & 2.

2. This specification covers requirements for the protection of external surfaces of carbon steel and insulated 300 series stainless steel from corrosion.

3. Colour Code: Shall be finalized and issued at the time of detailing.

4. For Climatic Local Conditions, Please refer ANNEXURE-5 attached with this specification.

5. The item listed below shall be shielded and protected to prevent damage during surface preparation and paint material application operation. All openings, including those that are flanged or threaded shall be sealed to prevent entry of blast abrasive or paint material. After completion of painting operation all material used for shielding and sealing shall be removed unless instructed otherwise: nameplates; packing glands and seals; bearing equipment couplings and shafts; lubrication fittings; pressure gauges and flow indicator glasses; motor starters; instrument dials; vents; Exposed linkages; Valve stems; Light bulb, enclosures and reflectors; Air intakes; Rubber part and plastics etc.

6. The painting requirement of individual pipes shall be identified on line classification lists. Contractor shall provide details of the method of identifying protective coating system on the line classification list for Owner review and approval.


1. GENERAL
This engineering standard specification covers the requirements for painting including surface preparation, method of application, inspection of paints/coating and painted surfaces for equipment, piping, structures, electrical, instrumentation equipment for the plants engineered by Alfa Laval (I) Ltd.

• For Painting of Piping/ Exchangers/ Vessels/ Rotary Equipments/ Storage Tanks contractor to follow ANNEXURE 1 for detailed painting schedule. The categories used for above are as follows :


a) For Piping : (Refer ANNEXURE – 1,2 & 3)

b) For Pressure Vessels/ Exchangers: (Refer ANNEXURE – 1,2 & 3) (Painting is done by Vessel Vendor)

e) For Storage Tanks : (Refer ANNEXURE – 1,2 & 3) (Painting is done by Vessel Vendor)

f) For Instrumentation : (Refer ANNEXURE -1)

g) For Electrical: Refer Doc No- 8455001-007-SP-0003 10-83T0040-373 (Protective finishes for
electrical equipments for outdoor use)

For MTO purpose all the above categories fall under code ‘PC’.

This Project Standard shall be read in conjunction with Licensor and Vietnamese mandatory standards, codes and regulations that also apply. In the event of any conflict, Contractor shall seek clarification from Owner before proceeding.
