In patients with vertical skeletal growth pattern any extrusion of
posterior segment is going to swing back the mandible more caudally ,
worsening the existing situation. In such cases bite should be opened by
true intrusion of upper and lower anteriors. Bite opening by true
intrusion although can be used in both grown and growing individuals; it
is really effective in growing individuals.
When the deep bite is of pseudo nature where there is supra -eruption of
anteriors - true intrusion of incisors is indicated.
