Notwithstanding this limitation, political ideology is expected to become increasingly important in the Korean political process. It should be emphasized that political ideology considerably overlaps with one’s age and generation, as we see in the fact that younger voters tend to be far more progressive than older ones. This suggests not only that the recent changes in political ideology and political culture are led by young voters who are closely associated with emerging post-materialistic values, but also that the political effects of these changes will be long-lasting.
