Well for me it’s because the very nature of film is different from any other medium and yet familiar enough to be accessible for the common person. It is the only medium that effectively works with motion, literally “art in motion”, and it’s also something that can be analyzed and researched and become intellectually stimulating. It’s a versatile medium that can cover literally any subject or era with any combination of tone and atmosphere, any perspective or frame of reference. There’s also the element of capturing a moment and solidifying it as an item of importance. This concept really exemplifies our humanity and places emphasis on its significance.

It’s inexhaustible really and that’s rather attractive.
