Communication in words is the best way to make people around the world stay together , are translating and interpreting word by word enough for us to understand each other ? The answer is “ no “ . We have to express the meaning of sentences spoken or written appropriately because in each of the languages , there are plenty of expressions , and we have different grammar . For example : in English , adjectives almost usually precede nouns , but in Vietnamese , nouns stand before adjectives , so we have to read the whole sentence or passage first . Therefore , we cannot translate or interpret word by word , it causes misunderstanding .

Besides expressing the meaning to listeners , translation and interpretation require the truth and clarification as well . Especially in some sensitive fields as : business , politics …. The words translated or interpreted must be clear , true … Vague information may ruin business or worse friendship among nations . Translators and interpreters have to have in-depth knowledge to avoid conflict or hatred expressions by using the words wisely , smartly .

In conclusion , translation and interpretation are not only a tool to transfer information but also a way to learn something new from other countries . Translators and interpreters should enhance knowledge and use words brilliantly and accurately . Those play a considerable role in success of business or nation friendship .
