Provide column-free space and separate Ballroom function from guestroom tower. Minimum sizes:o Main Ballrooms: 8,000 SF [800 sq m]o Junior Ballrooms: 4,000 SF [400 sq m] Ballroom shape is rectangular with an approximate width to length ratio of two to three,with access from two sides and Pre-Function area. Subdivisions by operable partitions are afunction of size, configuration and service. Junior Ballrooms are required to be subdivided in half and, when over 5,000 SF in size, canbe further subdivided at the end sections. Ceiling height is in direct proportion to the size and shape of the main room and itssubdivisions. Minimum clear heights to lower side of bulkheads/light. Provide light and sound locks at entrances from Heart-of-House corridors to Ballroom,
banquet and function spaces.
Provide wet wait stations in Heart-of-House corridors to support Ballrooms and junior
Ballrooms.
Consider optimum access routes, structural floor loading and maneuvering clearances for
oversized exhibits. Exhibit access may be from Pre-Function areas, Heart-of-House areas, or
directly from the exterior into the ballroom
Provide oversized, minimum 10’ - 0” [3 m] wide, freight elevator for exhibits and displays
when Ballrooms are not on grade level. Where market conditions or Facility Program
require, size freight elevator to accommodate large items, such as an automobile.

Entrances
16-gauge, one-piece, welded, hollow-metal frames.
Solid-core, fully-bonded, architectural veneer doors, finish consistent with interior of space.
One pair of 3’ - 0” [0.9 m] wide doors at each subdivided sections.
Provide RFID electronic lockset, following specification in Section 7.12 at all access doors.
Panic-type push-bar exiting devices required at all exit doors.
Electromagnetic door holders wired to fire alarm system.
