Weber’s bureaucratic approach takes into account that organizations are an integral part of the broader society where an organization is standing on principles like specialization, democracy, rationality and structure (Scott and Davis 2015). This approach has been considered rigid and self-perpetuating. Rigidity in Bureaucracy organizations with their rules and regulations has often been found to be discouraging originality and innovation. There are bound to be certain problems and disadvantages for the bureaucratic organizations in making the ‘best’ possible decisions. One such obstacle is the lack of liability and responsibility that has to be taken up by the higher management. It is an easy job for the management to thrust the trouble and burden regarding responsibility downwards. The management can wash off their hands with statements like, “I cannot be hold accountable as the direct report provided to me was not correct.” Another difficulty is the incompetence formed by the “cover me” politics existing in the bureaucratic business model. Bureaucrats tend to tag on a long decision making process that involves all the departments of the organization to support each and every decision in a way that the accountable decision maker has the option to charge the previous participant and so on down the line if any judgment is found to be a poor one (Harper 2015). It may happen at times that good opportunities are certainly lost by the time a final decision is being made. Most of the bureaucratic organizations have a difficult time in making decisions which are best for the business because of their complex and rigid pyramid structure. The bureaucratic system has hierarchy formations that define the roles of the individuals. Moreover, there is rigorous labor division which has to follow a formal set of rules. Bureaucracy often leads to implementation of state laws, handling the routine paperwork of governmental operations. In bureaucratic organizations simple responsibilities and measures are often being complex which ultimately lacks desired goals. The major problem that bureaucratic organizations have to deal with is their inability in performing tasks that are critical. Public bureaucratic organizations have the most problem in reaching their goals than their private counterparts because of them following more rules and regulations. There has often being a disconnection between the frontline workers and the objectives of the organization.
