The bottom row of Table 4.2 refers to phase change, in particular the combination of
convection with evaporation or condensation. An example is the way in which power
stations dispose of their surplus heat. In so-called wet towers a spray of hot water from
the condenser is cooled by rising air (forced convection). Furthermore, part of the water
evaporates, extracting its evaporation heat from the spray as well, which together with the
forced convection leads to effective cooling.
