supporting Korea's futureThe Pony Chung Foundation has been giving out scholarships to students since December 2006 in an effort to keep Honorary Chairman Chung's philosophy alive of valuing talented people in preparation for Korea's future. In its first nine years, 260 students received scholarship, with eligibility broadening from civil engineering to the humanities and liberal arts. The Pony Chung Foundation's screening process for Korean students starts with an announcement inviting university sophomores and junior from select schools (as designated by the foundation)to apply for a scholarship in September every year. Ultimately, 30 outstanding students who are having financial difficulties are provided with a year's worth of tuition fees. In addition, scholarship students receive opportunities to share their vision and have various experiences over the course of a year through several programs, such as the winter workshop, summer field trip, and mentoring programs run by Huyndai Development Company executives and employees. In addition, the Pony Chung Foundation has provided select students with a chance to further explore their academic majors via the Global Research Trip Group since 2012. According to an announcement made at the beginning of every May, applicants in pairs submit their research trip plans, with two final teams chosen in late May through document screening, interviews, and presentation tests. Each team is given KRW 10 million and needs to submit two reports while they are overseas for their planned six - week stay. This program is proof that anyone can make their dreams a reality if they have the will to make it happen.
