Dear Tuan, Yesterday evening I had a skype discussion with Gerard on the progress of GPOBA. He is happy with the progress but has made it clear that he needs more precise data, to be able to deliver a convincing story tomorrow at GPOBA in Washington and to include in the proposal. This relates back to the discussion we had yesterday concerning the actual numbers of poor people. He accepts it will not be possible to get this data from the PC’s on time. However, we still need to limit the total number of planned connections to 55,000. His suggestion now is that we ask the water companies to indicate which of the sub-areas they have proposed in the excel sheets have priority. This priority should be based on:a) Highest relative number of poor (the water companies should be able to estimate which areas are poorest)b) Readiness of sub projectsc) Minimum investment costs (e.g. those where the longest lengths of distribution pipe are needed have least priority) In these priorities a) is by far the most important. NAWASCO has requested 25,247. Could you please contact them and request them to prioritize the sub-projects down to ~7,000 connections in total? My question about the confirmed length of distribution extensions is still valid. Please urge NAWASCO to provide the answers today. Thanks and regards,Adriaan
