The company embarked on a training programme which helped to teach management a number of crucial skills. These included leadership skills, decision making, problem solving techniques, presentation skills and also developing and facilitating teams.The management team have developed a very 'hands on' (different than ‘add on’) approach to learning, and training usually takes place in an informal settingThe management team have gained confidence in their ability to lead the change processes and this training has helped to build up a more open environment in terms of communication and trust. The Managing Director had attended a seminar on quality and standards and decided that this was the way forward for Fortes. First some members of the management team visited a number of companies in order to learn how they had gone about gaining accreditation.
