Cultural change (Caulcutt, 2001). Six sigma is considered a breakthrough management strategy and it involves the adjustment of a firm’s values and culture. In some cases, substantial change to an organization’s structure and infrastructure needs to take place (Coronado and Antony, 2002). People facing cultural change and challenges due to the implementation of six sigma need to understand this requirement. Also needed are a clear communication plan and channels to motivate individuals to overcome resistance and to educate senior managers, employees, and customers on the benefits of six sigma (Kwak and Anbari, 2006).
