To Whom It May Concern-
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Ms. Tu Dung.
Ms. Dung was in my English class during the 2014-2015 school year. She was an exemplary student, both in her command of the English language (pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary and grammar), and her progress and hard work throughout the year.
I must admit that when I first met her and heard her speak I thought perhaps she has a British parent or had spent time in England. Her command of the language was that good!
At first, she was reluctant to participate in class and I could not understand why. Through an open discussion I found out that she dreaded public speaking, and shied away from class participation in general. However, she worked very hard on her self-confidence and began voluntarily joining in our class discussions and passionately expressed personal thoughts on literary works and films.
She researched and worked on methods to prepare presentation materials, such as: watching Youtube videos on public speaking, focusing on body language and practiced them determinedly in our classes. She seized every chance to get up and try out the new techniques she was learning, whether it was making effective eye contact or crafting a logical speech. It was obvious that she had taken the time to “read between the lines” and had done extra research to appreciate the artistic and moral values of the materials she read. Her motivation to succeed was very high, and I believe she achieved it well. I know that her level of self-confidence increased with all of this too.
Through all of these changes emerged a very ethical and insightful thinker. She welcomed challenges as opportunities to learn and grow.
I am certain that through her speaking and participating in class, she gained confidence, articulation and improved soft skills.
I was so pleased and honored to watch her grow, both as a student and an adult. She took her work very seriously and invested time and energy to attain her best.
In summary, Ms. Tu was one of the best students I had during my stay in Vietnam. Both her academic performance and personal character align well with your University's values. Therefore I strongly believe she will be a great asset to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City.

Sincerely,
