I. INTRODUCTIONRecently proposed distributed antenna system (DAS) calledgeneralized distributed antenna system (GDAS) promises anexcellent link quality and improved cell coverage with lowcomplexity [1]. The authors investigated the effect of macroscopicand microscopic diversity of the proposed GDAS systemon outage SNR performance and compared with the conventionalarchitectures in a composite fading channel. In thispaper, we employ GDAS at one end of the communication linkand multiple co-located antennas at the other, i.e., mobile, to investigatethe information-theoretic channel capacity which providesthe understanding of limit of bandwidth efficiency andhas recently drawn a considerable research attention.
