1. American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Crash Cart Supply and Equipment Checklist
The American Heart Association (AHA) is considered to be the “authority in resuscitation science” and publishes guidelines and standards for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and advanced emergency cardiovascular care (ECC). As part of the AHA’s advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) program, the “Crash Cart Supply and Equipment Checklist” was published on November 30, 2015 in accordance with the drug indications in the 2015 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. It lists the items that should be present on a crash cart for responding to patient emergencies. This list will be updated again in October 2020. In addition to the items listed on the Crash Cart Checklist, the AHA courses necessitate the supply of general pharmaceuticals, equipment, and supplies that should be available to health care workers certified in ACLS in order to provide the highest quality of care.
