At the recent meeting of the IFFO Management Board in Berlin, it was agreed to provide funding for some critical projects in 2016, including a study on how low trophic level fisheries are managed and the use of Ethoxyquin in fishmeal. Membership fees are reviewed by the board annually to balance our income against expenditure. The reduced quota in Peru in 2014 and impact on income was partly offset by other savings and the fees for 2015 were maintained at the 2014 level. However, based on estimates for 2015 production and forecast expenditure it was agreed to increase the Producer Levy by 4 cents to 40 cents per tonne. The Non Producer members who will also benefit from the investment in projects for 2016. The membership fees for Non Producers for 2016 will therefore be US$3,300 for Associates and US$6,600 for Premium Associates. The minimum Producer levy becomes US$6,600 per year. This is the first increase in membership fees since 2013 and will appear in invoices from January 2016. IFFO provides a global network and services, represents our industry at international policy level and is an award winning communicator. I trust you will agree the modest increase in fees still represents good value for money but please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns.
