Hacksaw
Frames - Most hand hacksaws have frames that are adjustable to take the two most common blade lengths of 250mm and 300mm.
Blade material and finish - Normally made from either a low tungsten steel or high-speed steel (H.S.S.). They may have a `flexible’ or an `all hard’ finish. Figure 28: Hacksaw
Flexible blades - have only the teeth hardened and are recommended for use where the work cannot be held firmly or is in an awkward position.
All Hard blades - hardened throughout. Their rigidity helps in accurate sawing. However, they will shatter if used incorrectly.
