WWF, in collaboration with partners developed, in a project called “ Power Sector Vision for the Greater Mekong Sub-region”, scenarios for Vietnam that are as consistent with WWF’s Global Energy Vision that argues it is technically and economically feasible to transition to 100% renewable energy supply globally by 2050. . The objectives of WWF’s vision are: (i) contribute to reduction of global greenhouse emissions (cut by >80% of 1990 levels by 2050) by transitioning the global energy system away from fossil fuels and into renewables; (ii) reduce dependency on unsustainable hydro and nuclear; (iii) enhance energy access; (iv) take advantage of new technologies and solutions; (v) enhance power sector planning frameworks for the region throughmulti-stakeholder participatory process; and (vi) enhance energy policy frameworks.

The purpose of this work is to provide detailed country-level descriptions of three scenarios for the power sector of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (Viet Nam):
• Business as Usual (BAU) power generation development path which is based on current power planning practices, current policy objectives;
• Sustainable Energy Sector (SES) scenario, where measures are taken to maximally deploy renewable energy and energy efficiency measures to achieve a near-100% renewable energy power sector; and
• Advanced Sustainable Energy Sector (ASES) scenario, which assumes a more rapid advancement and deployment of new and renewable technologies as compared to the SES.
The scenarios were based on public data, independent assessments of resource potentials, information obtained from published reports and power system modelling of Vietnam for the period 2015 to 2050.

WWF, trong sự hợp tác với các đối tác phát triển, trong một dự án được gọi là "Power Vision ngành cho các khu vực Tiểu vùng sông Mekong", kịch bản cho Việt Nam mà như phù hợp với tầm nhìn năng lượng toàn cầu của WWF rằng lập luận đó là về mặt kỹ thuật và kinh tế có tính khả thi để chuyển đổi sang 100% cung cấp năng lượng tái tạo trên toàn cầu vào năm 2050.. Các mục tiêu của tầm nhìn của WWF là: (i) góp phần giảm phát thải khí nhà kính toàn cầu (cắt giảm> 80% của mức năm 1990 vào năm 2050) bằng cách chuyển đổi hệ thống năng lượng toàn cầu đi từ nhiên liệu hóa thạch và năng lượng tái tạo vào; (ii) làm giảm sự phụ thuộc vào không bền vững thủy điện và hạt nhân; (iii) tăng cường tiếp cận năng lượng; (iv) tận dụng lợi thế của các công nghệ và giải pháp mới; (v) tăng cường khuôn khổ quy hoạch ngành điện cho các khu vực throughmulti bên liên quan quá trình có sự tham gia; và (vi) tăng cường các khuôn khổ chính sách năng lượng.

Mục đích của việc này là để mô tả nước cấp chi tiết của ba kịch bản cho ngành điện lực của nước Cộng hoà xã hội chủ nghĩa Việt Nam (Việt Nam):
• Kinh doanh như thông thường (BAU) phát điện con đường phát triển mà là dựa trên thực tiễn quy hoạch điện hiện nay, mục tiêu chính sách hiện hành;
• ngành năng lượng (SES) kịch bản bền vững, nơi mà các biện pháp được thực hiện để tối đa triển khai các biện pháp năng lượng và hiệu quả năng lượng tái tạo để đạt được một ngành điện năng lượng tái tạo%-100 gần; và
• Nâng cao ngành năng lượng bền vững (AS) kịch bản, trong đó giả định một tiến bộ nhanh chóng hơn và triển khai các công nghệ mới và tái tạo so với SES.
Các kịch bản được dựa trên dữ liệu công cộng, đánh giá độc lập của tiềm năng tài nguyên, thông tin thu được từ các báo cáo được công bố và mô hình hệ thống điện của Việt Nam cho giai đoạn 2015-2050.
