There are other characteristics that may make the information more useful. These are:
● comparability – allowing for both inter-company and inter-period comparisons;
● verifi ability – means that different knowledgeable and independent observers could broadly
agree that the report provides a faithful representation of transactions;
● timeliness – information is available to decision-makers in time to be capable of infl uencing
their decisions;
● understandability – assumes that users have a reasonable knowledge of business and
economic activities.
