Cyanophyceae were represented by 10 genera and 18 species. Anabaena, Merismopedia, Microcystis, Nostoc, Oscillatoria and Arthrospira. Were dominant showing seasonal variation with maximum taxa in summer season and minimum in rainy season. Interestingly three species of Microcystis were recorded in summer season. Merismopedia sp. occurred at all stations. Observations are similar with the findings of Tiwari and Chauhan
They also reported abundance of cyanophycean members in Kitham lake (Agra) during summer months. In the present study only 12 species of diatoms were recorded. Seasonal distribution of members of Bacillariophyceae followed winter>summer>monsoon trend
