Over the past few centuries, the global population has not only increased significantly, but the socio-economic changes such as the advent of industrial revolution, has triggered significant improvements in the lifestyle and living standards across the globe. There are now large cities, having greater facilities, fasters means of transport, greater number of products available for consumption, and significant development in the way average human being lives. This is all possible through the advanced in science and technology that resulted in utilization of available resources to enable human being live a facilitated life. It is often said that the developments in lifestyle and standard of living are beneficial to the society in general, but it is also questioned that such improvements have their own costs such as deterioration of environment due to pollution in air, water, soil and otherwise. Although improvements in living standards have created facilities and benefits but this is not without cost. Increased standard of living has increased air pollution and water pollution, which are social and economic changes causing damage to the environment.
