You should bring a government-issued picture ID (in addition to your passport). The government-issued ID must be turned in to Security and will be held until your departure from the Embassy. IMPORTANT NOTE: You should arrive no earlier than 20 minutes before or after your scheduled appointment. If you arrive more than 20 minutes before or after your appointment, you may be denied entry and could be required to reschedule. Please note that the visa process involves several steps from application submission to interview. The Embassy cannot provide parking spots for your car/motorbike. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation. You are not allowed to enter the U.S. Embassy while carrying any of the following items: Battery-operated or electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops, recording devices, USB or other portable data storage, MP3 or portable music players, audio/video cassettes, compact discs, digital diaries, digital watches, pagers, or cameras. Please note that these electronic devices will be kept at Security when you enter the building. Your electronic devices will be returned to you when your business is completed. Additional Prohibited Items· Large shoulder bags/purses - only bags that can be carried by hand will be permitted.· Bags such as travel bags, backpacks, briefcases, suitcases, leather, cloth bags, and zip folders - you may only carry plastic bags containing application-related papers· Food and liquid items· Sealed envelopes or packages· Cigarettes, cigars, match boxes, lighters· Sharp objects such as scissors, pen knives or nail files· Weapons or explosive materials of any kind There is no facility at the U.S. Embassy to store these prohibited items. You must make arrangements to store these items before entering. This list is not exhaustive. Other items may be prohibited at the discretion of security staff.
