I make larger batches (12 or more pounds [5.4 or more kg]) of my highly unsaturated soap (the unsaturated oil in the formula accounts for at least 50 percent of the total fat and oils) at 80 F (27 C) when I apply a 10 to 15 percent sodium hydroxide discount. I produce highly saturated soap (formulas containing a high percentage of saturated fats and oils) and marbled soap at 95–100 F (35–38 C).
